Shamalamadingdong’s career has definitely been more miss than hit, but he knocked it out of the park with this one. It’s a movie that has several scenes that stick with you, and as a horror, it’s genuinely creepy. Him mistaking a ghost for his mom in the kitchen. The freakin’ opening scene with Donnie Wahlberg. So many things to praise. The acting is top notch, especially Toni Collette.
